Registration for the Maegen Online alpha is open. You can create your account today, before there is a client to download, and the account you create now is the account you keep.
What to do now
Create the account with an e-mail address you actually read, and confirm the verification message. That is the whole step. The verification link is valid for 24 hours; if it expires, the sign-in page will send a new one.
One account is enough. It works on every server, and it will be the same account the launcher and the client sign in with when they arrive — there is no second registration later.
What registering does and does not get you
It puts you on the list for the alpha waves, and it means that on the day the client is published you are one download away from playing instead of one download and one sign-up.
It does not guarantee a place in the first wave. The waves are sized to what the servers can be measured to carry, and they grow from there. Nobody is charged anything: creating an account and playing the alpha is free.
What happens next
The alpha dates are announced here first, then on our other channels. The Download page will carry the launcher, its version, its size and its checksum on the same day.
Until then the most useful thing on this site is the roadmap: it says what comes in which order, and it never carries a date until the date is real.
